Your skin worries checked out quickly, online by a specialist.
Your Equipsme plan is designed to help you to get better, faster. The dermatology online outpatient services are here to help do that more efficiently – getting you the help you need as quickly and as seamlessly as possible.
Your skin is the largest organ in your body. From cystic acne to eczema and psoriasis, most people will have skin concerns at some point in their life. The dermatology online outpatient service can help you get them seen quickly.
How to access the dermatology online outpatient service
Contact your NHS GP or the 24/7 private GP service with your concerns – if appropriate they will recommend a referral to a specialist (called an open referral).
Log into the member portal or App and click on the Diagnosis icon.
Contact AXA Health by phone and quote your AXA Health membership number (which can be found in your Equipsme portal/App) or log into the dedicated link.
AXA Health may need to ask for further information first if your symptoms/conditions could be pre-existing or otherwise excluded.
You will be asked to complete an online clinical assessment, including uploading any images, to help a consultant assess your symptoms.
A consultant dermatologist will aim to review your case and get back to you within 3 working days to advise of next steps. Recommendations may include prescribing medication and an onward management plan.
If you would like to discuss the recommendations, or if you have any further questions, you can ask for a phone or video call from the privacy of your own home.
If you need to see a specialist face-to-face or for further diagnostics tests, you’re on the fast track to be seen through your Equipsme plan.
If the condition is suspected to be cancerous, AXA Health will direct you appropriately to support with diagnosis.
Please note:
The dermatology online outpatient service is available to Equipsme members who have diagnosis or treatment as part of their Equipsme plan.
The dermatology online outpatient service can’t be used if you have received any medication, advice or treatment, including symptoms in the 3 years before your cover started.
You may be prescribed medication with a private prescription. Your membership doesn't cover the cost of prescriptions. You can pay for these privately, but it may cost more than on the NHS
Equipsme members with private diagnosis on their plan can access skin cancer diagnosis, but Equipsme do not cover cancer treatment. The NHS is often best placed, with more expertise, to provide the care, support and attention people need.
