Your Equipsme plan is designed to help you to get better, faster. The specialised online outpatient services are here to help do that more efficiently – getting you the help you need as quickly and as seamlessly as possible.
The muscles, bones and joints online outpatient services are open to ALL members and no GP referral is needed.
There are lots of issues that affect muscles, bones and joints – which is probably why musculoskeletal issues are one of the key causes of sickness absence in the UK. Instead of guessing whether you need a rest, a doctor or a physiotherapist, the Muscles, bones and joints online outpatient services can help guide you through an online assessment and point you in the right direction.
How to access the muscles, bones and joints online outpatient services:
- Log into the member portal or App and click on the Muscle, bones and joints /Physio support icon
- Contact AXA Health by phone and quote your AXA Health membership number (which can be found in your Equipsme portal/App) or click the dedicated link.
- You will be asked to complete an online clinical assessment before attending an online appointment with a clinician.
- After the initial online consultation, if you need hands-on therapy with a physio you will need to contact the claims team at AXA Health to assess if your claim is eligible (i.e. not a pre-existing condition or otherwise excluded) and you will need to check your level of cover to see how many physio appointments you’re eligible for per plan year.
- If you need diagnostic tests or a further consultation, this can be arranged at a provider or clinic close to you - if your plan includes diagnosis or treatment services.
- In some cases, exercise and movement might be what’s needed, so you may receive a bespoke plan with exercises to try at home, at the gym or even at work.
Please note:
- The muscles, bones and joints online outpatient services are open to all Equipsme members, at every plan level.
- The muscles, bones and joints online outpatient services can’t be used if you have received any medication, advice or treatment, including symptoms in the 3 years before your cover started. However, for pre-existing muscles, bones and joints issues, you CAN still use the muscles, bones and joints online outpatient services and receive online/phone assessments, support and advice – but you can’t access face-to-face treatments or diagnostic tests.
