Press release: Health MGA Equipsme welcomes Andy Morfey as a non‑executive Director

26 February 2026

Business health insurance specialists Equipsme has appointed Andy Morfey as a non-executive Director on its Board, strengthening the MGA’s commitment to both strong governance and responsible growth.

Andy Morfey brings with him a wealth of experience from the healthcare industry, including senior roles in digital health and health insurance.

He was Finance Director at Health-On-Line with board level responsibility for finance, operations, strategy and commercial development, as well as chair of its Risk and Governance Committee, as it grew to become a £70m+ business. He has also served as Head of Strategic Proposition Development for AXA Health’s wellbeing initiatives, playing a pivotal role in product and proposition development - and is now a consultant specialising in supporting brokers, MGA’s and insurers.

Morfey joins Equipsme’s Chair, Stuart Reid, who was appointed last year to help the organisation transform from start-up to scale-up, as it has continued to expand into the ‘middle ground’ space between traditional PMI and cash plans.

Gap in the market

Reid says: “I’m delighted to welcome Andy on board - quite literally. As a Board, we’re here to help steer Equipsme at a very significant moment of its growth. As the UK’s only health MGA, Equipsme spotted a gap in the saturated PMI market, and created a PMI-lite solution that anticipated and is now meeting new demand from brokers, employers and employees alike.

“Capitalising on that growth and the opportunities opening up to us is key, and Andy’s experience, entrepreneurial spirit and deep knowledge of the landscape will be an incredible resource and asset.”

Transparency, usability and value

Andy Morfey said: “I’m very excited to be part of Equipsme – an organisation and leadership team I have been connected to and impressed by for years now. They’re critically focussed on what customers actually want and need, so very well placed in the current climate. Add to this a dedication to continuously improving the customer experience, and moving fast when fast is needed, the business is able to deliver transparency, usability, and demonstratable value to its customers.”

Matthew Reed added: “Andy’s track record of growing businesses and capitalising on market trends speaks for itself, and his input comes at just the right moment as we continue to scale rapidly - and land larger clients looking to do more in terms of health support for all or more of their workforce.”

Equipsme plans start at just £9 per person per month, and are designed to respond to the key causes of sickness absence across wider-workforce populations. All plans include virtual GP services, physiotherapy support, preventative health checks and gym discounts, with private diagnosis and treatment from just £42 per person per month.

Broker partners include Aon, Brown & Brown, Howden, Gallagher’s, Mercer Marsh Benefits and Willis Tower Watson, with clients ranging from large energy firms like UK Power Networks, through to manufacturing businesses, schools, hospitality chains, and charities.
