Equipsme plans are designed to offer practical, everyday health and wellbeing support. Here’s how to use Dental and Optical cover – if it’s part of your plan.

Who can access Dental and Optical cover?

Not all Equipsme members will have access to Equipsme’s Dental & Optical cover.
Companies can choose whether or not to add this benefit to their company plan, so make sure it’s actually one of your benefits before reading on.

How to use Equipsme’s Dental and Optical cover

Equipsme’s Dental and Optical cover is the bit of Equipsme that acts a bit like a cash plan. So you keep receipts for dental work and optician costs and claim them back afterwards.

Can an individual add it to their plan as an upgrade?

No – Dental and Optical cover can only be bought for you by your company for all employees covered.

How do I know if I’ve got Dental and Optical cover?

Go to your Equipsme App or portal. You’ll see the Dental & Optical icon if it’s part of your plan.

What do you get with Dental and Optical cover?

Equipsme’s Dental and Optical cover gives you:

  • Up to £200 in the plan year for dental fees, at an NHS or private dentist of your choice, for check-ups, hygienist visits, gum disease treatment, x-rays, fillings, crowns, bridges and dentures.
  • £25 towards the cost of one eyesight test per plan year, and up to £100 per plan year for optician fees, including towards the cost of prescribed glasses and contact lenses.

How do I access my Dental and Optical cover?

When you go to the Dentist or Optician, ask for a receipt of your tests/treatment and what you have paid.
You then log back into your Equipsme portal or App, select the Dental & Optical benefit icon, complete the online claim form and upload copies of your treatment/payment receipt(s) – and submit it through to our claims team at AXA Health.

Do I have to pay for Dental and Optical cover?

This is the only part of your Equipsme plan where you’re asked to pay up-front, and then claim back the cost of your treatment up to the agreed cover limits.

How long does it take to get my money back?

Once you’ve submitted a claim, our claims team will assess it and if covered, you will receive a cheque reimbursement in the post usually within 14 days.

Do my family get Dental and Optical cover?

Yes! Unlike many other Dental and Optical plans, every person you add to your Equipsme plan is also added to the Dental & Optical cover that your employer has bought for you – at no extra cost. That means you don’t share one £200 dental pot – each person can get £200 per plan year for dental treatment, and £100 per plan year for optician costs (plus £25 for an eye test).
